Solutions
One of the steps that JTA (Jacksonville Transportation Authority) has taken to make the roads safer in 2022 is constructing turbo roundabouts. The first one constructed - located at the busy intersection of University BLVD. and Merrill Road in Arlington - includes sidewalks around the perimeter and smart crosswalks that have flashing lights to warn drivers to stop for pedestrians who are about the ross the road.
The JTA expects this change to greatly enhance the flow of traffic through that busy, multi-lane intersection.
